Apetrel are pleased to report the conclusion of the first phase of research in the SPARK project.
SPARK is a research project into the provision of context appropriate data on EV charging. Phase one focused on defining and modelling the concept of TravelabilityTM based on a function of the density of high speed chargepoints near the UK’s Strategic Road Network and time profiles of traffic volume.
The travelability was run based on the previous two models with the division function. The figure below shows, for England, the distribution of travelability on the strategic road network in England.
The density shows the number of cars per charge point. As shown in the graph, there is for example a severe shortage of charge points around the junction of M4 and A419.
